I just don't care

Shaun King is an activist who has been in the forefront of the #BlackLivesMatter movement since it sprang into being following the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin.  Now people are claiming that he has lied about being biracial.  That he lied about his race to get into Morehouse University and to obtain a scholarship provided by Oprah Winfrey that was only open to blacks.  That he lied about being the victim of a hate crime.  That he lied about a car accident.

You know what?  I don't give a damn.  If he lied about his race, the only instance where that might be an issue involves an issue of fraud involving that scholarship and that's an issue between himself and Oprah Winfrey.  Considering there is no formal structure in the #BlackLivesMatter movement and he holds no official position or portfolio as an official of this group, these charges are unimportant.  They are conservative noise, trying to silence a man who didn't get fake spray tans or do anything else deceptive or dishonest.  He spoke up for black lives.  So the far right wants to silence him.

This is nothing more than an attempt to obfuscate the real issue.  That blacks in particular and minorities in general, especially the younger ones, are dying in disproportionate numbers at the hands of local law enforcement officers.  That's the real issue and Shaun King is trying to do something about it.  Trying to stop the tide of dead bodies of young people who did not deserve to have their lives cut short.  If there's an issue with his college scholarship and how it was obtained, Ms Winfrey can seek redress if she feels the need.  If she's not bitching about it, the people who are need to sit down and shut the hell up about it.
