Was it planned?

The announcement that former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle was arrested and has pled guilty to child pornography charges may not have come as a surprise to some.  This is based on a script for a new Subway commercial that was in the works to advertise Subway's latest expansion plans.  Subway has reached agreements with 46 states to put Subway locations into prison commissaries.  Here's the script:

FADE IN:

INT - A PRISON CELL DESIGNED FOR A SINGLE INMATE

The cell is bare, with only a bed, sink and commode.  JARED FOGLE is lying on the bed and gets up as the camera tightens on him.

JARED

Hi.  I'm Jared Fogle.  This is my new home for the next eight to ten years, but thanks to some ingenious deal-making, I won't be denied my favorite sandwiches during my incarceration.

PAN BACK TO THE HALLWAY OUTSIDE THE CELL

Jared walks out of the cell with the camera following him as he head down the hallway.  The shot is of Jared from the waist up.

The reason that this hallway seems deserted is that I'm in protective custody due to the attitude of some prisoners toward those accused of child molesting or having been involved in child porn.  I am innocent of these charges but pled guilty in order to avoid the risk of a much longer prison sentence.  But I digress.  We're here to talk about the best fast food on the planet, Subway Sandwiches. 

Jared turns a corner and the shot swings around to his POV and we are now looking at the PRISON COMMISSARY.  There is a large SIGN that reads "Fresh Subway Sandwiches Available 24/7"

It's actually four in the morning here but I've got a hankering for a foot long Italian Club and I can get it made now, just the way I like it.  With everything.

CUT TO

EXT:  OUTSIDE A LARGE PRISON, AERIAL VIEW

JARED (VO)

Subway.  They go wherever you go.
