Siskiyou County votes to pursue seceding from California and other eye-catching headlines

The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors has voted 4-1 to look into seceding from the State of California to form a state they would call Jefferson.  Their intention is to get other counties in Northern California and Southern Oregon to join them in forming this 51st state.

The anesthesiologist and other employees involved in the incident received brief work suspensions but retained their jobs.  Disgusting.

There are at least two small, private colleges out there that have banned cell phones and most of their students claim they like it.  They've also limited most Internet usage.

A retail store in Oregon is taking a lot of heat after one of its employees allegedly asked a teen girl to leave because she was "too big to be in this store."  The chain is investigating and calling the incident a "misunderstanding" (yeah, right).

An Atlanta woman was fortunate that she was home when her eCigarette exploded and started a fire.  She quickly put the fire out or it might have burned her entire home.

Analysts are saying that it looks like the California Supreme Court won't be issuing a law license to an illegal immigrant who managed to pass the bar exam on his first try.  Governor Moonbeam and former Governor Pete Wilson couldn't pass it on the first try.

An Irish chef is feuding with a restaurant critic and the latest shot in their war is a photo he put out showing her severed head in the hand of a colleague while he held a cleaver in his own.  Not nice.

The U.S. Air Force has banned its military personnel from consuming a brand of Greek yogurt because it contains hemp seeds in a tiny quantity, and that might impact random drug tests.
