Game of Thrones written with 1980s era software and other headlines
In 1987, WordStar 4.0 was released. George R. R. Martin, author of the very successful "Game of Thrones" novel series still uses that program to write his works. He uses a DOS based computer that is not connected to the Internet for his writing, and a modern machine to do any other computer functions. Reporter's note: In 1987, I attended a training class to learn WordStar 4.0. I should have hung on to it.

One of Sterling's employees gave a deposition in a lawsuit that when Sterling learned the apartment where the blind, partially paralyzed Jones lived was in desperate need of repairs; Sterling had one question. An arcane law in Missouri is keeping the kid who found $10,000 in cash in a hotel room from getting the money, even though it remains unclaimed over a year after it was discovered. The law requires that the finder of money has to take certain actions within ten days of discovery of the money and the boy and his father failed to take those actions by the deadline.
