Early headlines today, due to my being due at the office at 4 p.m.

There's a great article on the L.A. Times website today, about the woman who will probably inherit and run one of the oldest and finest restaurants in New Orleans.  22 year old Casie Blount is the heir apparent to Antoine's.  Interesting read.

"American Idol" is reportedly going to fire all four of its judges, and long-time executive producer Nigel Lythgoe at the end of this season.  Stay tuned.

Wendy Gruel trails in the polls in the L.A. mayoral race and now she's playing the "vote for me, I'd be the first ever female mayor" card.  Meanwhile she may have some explaining to do when it comes to $42.6 million in a fund that she never audited.  The Transportation Department says the money "fell through the cracks".

In an interesting case, the California Supreme Court has ruled that a father who molested his daughter may lose custody of his sons, even though he never harmed them.  He will be permitted supervised visits with his kids, but no other contact without supervision.

A intelligence unit of the Department of Homeland Security issued a report this past April 10th that identified the finish line of the Boston Marathon as an area of "increased vulnerability" and they warned Boston police that extremists might use small scale bombings at the event.  There was no credible evidence of a threat, only the notation of heightened vulnerability.

Actress Heather Graham, appearing in "Hangover, Part III" which opens soon, says she wants good sex, and maybe someday to get married.

15 strawberry pickers in Ventura County were fired from their jobs when they fled the fields because a fire was approaching.  They were eventually offered their jobs back but only one accepted.

An 83 year old nun and two fellow protesters were convicted of interfering with national security when they broke into and defaced a nuclear weapons facility in Tennessee.

Sara Blakely is the founder of Spanx.  She is also now the first female billionaire to join the Giving Pledge, created by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.  In signing the pledge, Blakely joins 113 others who have pledged to give away the majority of their wealth.
