NFL won't allow billboard to be shown on their opening night game and other eye-catching headlines

For those few who weren't aware of this by now, Colorado has legalized the recreational use of marijuana.  Now the Marijuana Policy Project has purchased time/space on a billboard near Denver's Mile High Stadium urging the NFL to allow players to smoke pot without penalty.

A Good Samaritan in Santa Monica saved a driver from a $65 parking ticket by pretending the car was his.  He walked up just as the parking police were about to ticket the car.  Then he left a note letting the driver know what he'd done and urging him to pay it forward.

Five years ago, Hannah Upp disappeared and wasn't found for three weeks.  She disappeared again last week but this time it only took two days for her to be found.  Experts believe she may be suffering from dissociative fugue.

It wasn't the fault of the sports marketing people this time.  A billboard that went up in Las Vegas promoting UNLV football and basketball had a photo of the wrong basketball coach.  Rather than a picture of current coach Dave Rice, Clear Channel had mistakenly used an old image of the former coach, Lon Kruger.  Clear Channel has apologized.

It came as no surprise to the rest of the cast who did show up for a 30th anniversary screening of "The Big Chill" at the Toronto International Film Festival that Kevin Costner wasn't joining them.  After all, his face was excised from what little of his scenes remained in the movie.  Jeff Goldblum and William Hurt were also not present.

The Yuba City school district has offered the mother of a 21 year old autistic student $86,000 as a settlement to get her to enroll him in private school and stop filing complaints against the school district.  But Heather Houston says she doesn't want their money, she wants her son to receive the education he is legally entitled to.

Actress Anne Hathaway is selling an apartment in Brooklyn for $4.5 million, and she never actually moved into it.  She was using the 9th floor unit that has almost 2,600 square feet of living space as a place to store clothes while she and her husband lived in another unit in the same building.  That's a really expensive closet.

The girlfriend of NASCAR racer Mike Skeen was fined $2,500 for slapping another NASCAR driver, and banned indefinitely from NASCAR events.  I can understand the ban, but how do they fine someone who isn't a competitor or member of a racing team?
