I hate one night of the year more...

that any other night.  That's the Saturday night when we "fall back".  Bad enough I'm up early on most days, but on the day after that night I'm up even earlier.  Yes, in a few days I will adjust and yes, there are good things that come out of Daylight Savings time.  But I still hate this one particular night and morning.  One of these years I'm going to just stay up all night and then crash in the morning.

I saw "The Man With the Iron Fists" yesterday.  If you can ignore the extreme unlikelihood of a freed slave ending up aboard a ship that wrecks on the Chinese coastline, and the inability of anyone to manufacture iron forearms that end in hands with flexible, controllable digits in the late 1800s, it's a lot of fun.  Today's movie is "Flight" which is based on a true story, although it really takes dramatic license with the story, the crash and the pilot's life.  But I know this going in so I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I also have to go out and buy a tie and a pair of shoes to attend an interview next week.  I hate shopping for clothing and/or shoes.  I have a memory of being en route to work one morning, spilling something on my tie and ending up buying a new one at a drugstore.  I think I'll go somewhere a little better for this one.

Lots of talk of the "Vote Early" campaigns.  Except in Chicago where it's "Vote Early and Often".

Happy birthday Hot Lips!  Loretta Swit, who played the character on the TV show "M*A*S*H" turned 75.  Today's question is who played that role in the film version of "M*A*S*H"??

BTW, I forgot that I owe you the answer to a question from Friday's blog.  What are the ethical obligations of a tax preparer who knows that his or her hair stylist is NOT claiming their tips, because the tax pro tipped that person during the year?  They cannot prepare a return they know contains false information.  So the client either claims the tips or goes elsewhere to get their taxes done.  Which will probably mean the tax pro needs to find someone new to do their hair.

There is such a major dead rat problem in South Africa that you can redeem 60 dead rats for a free cell phone.  But wash your hands before you use it.

A few excerpts from the want ads:

"We are looking for a highly organized Office Manager/Right Hand/Project Manager who is willing to go above and beyond to meet expectations and deadlines of a growing firm."  Why is it the right hand anyway?  What's wrong with the left hand?

This is from an ad looking for an office admin to work overnight in a medical marijuana dispensary:  "Knowledge or interest in MJ (or willing to learn)"  Would someone who doesn't know how to use pot apply to work in a pot dispensary?

From an ad looking for an 'owner's assistant:  "If you can't figure out what 30% of $600 is in your head, this won't be the position for you. You will be tested on this at the interview."  Couldn't an applicant research the answer to this question before going on the interview?

"BRIDAL CONSULTANT/SALES PERSON Wanted for A Bridal Boutique-Part Time"  Is there somewhere other than a Bridal Boutique or other Bridal store that a Bridal Consultant would be working?

"Lead Line Cook with Fine Dining Experience Needed"  Fine dining?  Are there restaurants labelled "Not so Fine"?

Now a look at history:
